Prestonwood Christian Academy continued its strong start to the 2026 season Friday night, defeating Fort Worth Christian 49-35 behind another balanced offensive performance.

After opening the season with a 45-38 road victory over Concordia Lutheran, the Lions once again found plenty of ways to move the football. PCA finished the night with 424 yards of total offense, combining a productive ground game with several explosive plays through the air.

The Lions rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per attempt. Braden Bixler led the way with another big performance, carrying the ball 25 times for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Through the first two games of the season, Bixler has now rushed for 267 yards and five touchdowns.

PCA added another 226 yards through the air. Quarterback Ryan Neidigk completed 7 of 15 passes for 130 yards, while Max Reyes went 5-for-8 for 96 yards.

Vance Hernandez continued to be an explosive threat for the Lions, hauling in two receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. Cutter Likens added two catches for 53 yards and a score, while Luke Lineberger led PCA with five receptions for 41 yards.

The performance gave PCA its second consecutive game with more than 400 yards of total offense and marked another strong showing for an offense that has now scored 94 points through its first two games.

Defensively, the Lions came up with several big plays throughout the night to help secure the 49-35 victory. Brody Kernal led the way with eight total tackles, including six assisted tackles, while Job Palmer and Connor Kidwell each finished with seven tackles. Micah Windingland added six tackles, including a tackle for loss and a sack, helping the Lions create pressure at key moments.

Ian Nunnenkamp also made his presence felt, recording a tackle for loss, a sack, a QB hurry and a fumble recovery. The Lions' secondary came up with three interceptions, with Jacob Chong, Lucas Balma and Palmer each recording a pick. Palmer added an extra spark with a defensive touchdown, while PCA's defense finished the night with five tackles for loss, three sacks, six pass breakups, three interceptions and a forced fumble.

With two road victories to begin the season, the Lions now return to Plano for their first home game of 2026.

PCA will welcome All Saints Episcopal School to Lions Stadium on Friday, September 11, for a 7 p.m. kickoff. All Saints enters the matchup 2-1 after a dominant 44-7 victory over The John Cooper School last Friday. The Saints' lone loss came in a close 38-35 battle against Liberty Christian.

Friday's matchup will give the Lions their first opportunity of the season to play in front of the home crowd after opening the year on the road. PCA will look to carry its early offensive momentum into Lions Stadium while continuing to build on a 2-0 start.

Through two games, the Lions have shown an ability to attack defenses in multiple ways, with Bixler leading the ground game and the PCA receiving corps creating opportunities through the air. That balance will be important against an All Saints team coming off its most decisive win of the young season.

Now, the Lions are ready to bring Friday night football back to Lions Stadium—and defend home turf.
