The Prestonwood Christian Academy Plano Lions are state champions once again.

PCA defeated Concordia Lutheran, 11-2, on Tuesday to capture the 2026 TAPPS 6A Division I State Championship and secure the third state baseball title in program history. The victory capped an outstanding season for the Lions, who finished with an impressive 31-3 overall record.

After reaching the state championship game a year ago, Prestonwood returned to the season's biggest stage determined to finish the job. The Lions wasted little time taking control, erupting for nine runs in the second inning to build a lead they would never surrender.

Senior first baseman and Texas A&M commit, Trent Vilade, delivered the biggest swing of the day, crushing a grand slam in the second inning as part of the Lions' nine-run frame that broke the game wide open. The championship performance highlighted the resilience and determination of a Prestonwood team that spent the season establishing itself as one of the top programs in Texas high school baseball.

While the offense provided the fireworks, the Lions also delivered another strong defensive effort. Pitcher Steele LeBouef helped lead the way on the mound, limiting Concordia Lutheran's offense and helping Prestonwood maintain control throughout the game. Combined with timely hitting and solid defense, the Lions' balanced approach proved too much to overcome.

The championship was officially secured on the game's final play, a ground out to second baseman Jake Feldman, sending the Lions into celebration as they completed an 11-2 victory over Concordia Lutheran and claimed the TAPPS 6A Division I State Championship.

The title marks Prestonwood's first state championship since 2022 and the third in program history. With a 31-3 final record, the Lions completed one of the most successful seasons the program has ever enjoyed and once again brought a state championship trophy back to Plano.
