When the Prestonwood Christian Academy volleyball team takes the court, it doesn't take long for the Lions to make their presence felt.

PCA came out firing against Liberty Christian, combining a relentless offensive attack, disciplined defense, and pressure from the service line to sweep the Warriors 3-0 and continue its impressive start to the 2026 season.

The Lions jumped out to a 10-point victory in the opening set 25-15, then maintained that momentum through the final two sets 25-18, 25-18.

It was a complete team performance — and the numbers tell the story.

PCA recorded 43 kills on the night while hitting .341 as a team, consistently finding openings in the Liberty Christian defense. Taylor Johnson and Nyla Livings led the way with 12 kills apiece, giving the Lions a formidable one-two punch at the net.

Johnson also contributed nine digs and four total blocks, including two solo blocks, while Livings added two blocks of her own. Gracie White provided another major offensive spark with nine kills while hitting a team-best .538.

The Lions weren't simply winning points at the net. They were creating opportunities everywhere on the court. Elizabeth Kowalchyk directed the offense with 20 assists, helping PCA maintain its rhythm throughout the sweep. Evann Beville added 17 assists as the Lions finished with 40 assists as a team.
That offensive balance made it difficult for Liberty Christian to slow down the Lions. And when the Warriors did manage to get a swing, PCA's defense was ready.

Anya Baklenko anchored the back row with a team-high 15 digs while also recording 17 serve receptions. Johnson added nine digs, Kowalchyk contributed seven, and Beville finished with four as PCA totaled 49 digs.

The Lions also made their presence felt at the net, recording 12 total blocks. Johnson led the way with four total blocks, while White and Hayden Thomas each added three.

PCA recorded six aces as a team, with White leading the charge with two. Baklenko, Livings, Kowalchyk, and Beville each added an ace as the Lions continued to put pressure on Liberty Christian throughout the match.

For PCA, the sweep was about more than simply putting another win in the record book. It was a demonstration of the depth and versatility that make this Lions team so difficult to defend. Power at the net. Precision from the setters. Relentless defense. Pressure from the service line.

Every piece was working.

With the victory, PCA improved to 20-2 on the season and continued its remarkable stretch of success, having now won 41 of its last 44 matches dating back to last season.

The Lions are rolling — and Thursday night was another reminder that this team has plenty of firepower from every corner of the court.
