Prestonwood Christian Academy volleyball came out with purpose and finished with confidence, sweeping Greenhill in a hard-fought three-set battle, 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.
The Lady Lions set the tone early and never let up. Greenhill continued to challenge PCA throughout the match, but each time the Hornets looked to gain momentum, the Lady Lions answered with a big swing, a timely block, or a defensive play to keep control. PCA's ability to stay composed in the tight moments ultimately made the difference as the Lions closed out all three sets.
Offensively, PCA was clicking.
The Lady Lions finished the night with 50 kills on 94 attempts and an impressive .404 hitting percentage, showcasing an attack that was both aggressive and efficient. Nyla Livings led the way with 13 kills, while Gracie White and Taylor Johnson each added 12. Naomi Livings chipped in six kills while hitting an outstanding .667, and Meiah Finley added four kills in a productive offensive performance.
That balanced attack made it difficult for Greenhill to settle into a rhythm. With multiple Lions consistently finding success at the net, PCA kept pressure on the Hornets from start to finish.
The Lady Lions were just as strong defensively.
PCA recorded 12 total blocks, with White leading the charge with five total blocks, including a solo block. Finley, Nyla Livings, and Hayden Thomas each added two blocks, while Johnson and White also contributed assisted blocks. The defensive effort at the net repeatedly gave the Lions opportunities to turn stops into points.
Behind the front row, PCA's defense continued to make plays all over the court. The team collected 40 digs, led by Baklenko's 14 and Johnson's 12. Nyla Livings added four digs, while several other Lions contributed to a collective defensive effort that kept rallies alive and allowed PCA to transition back into its offense.
Keeping that offense in motion was Elizabeth Kowalchyk, who finished with 26 assists. Evann Beville added 16 assists as the duo helped distribute the ball and keep PCA's attack balanced throughout the match.
PCA was also steady in serve receive, finishing with an 87.5 percent team rate. Baklenko, Nyla Livings, and Johnson each handled 15 or more serve-receive attempts, providing the consistency needed to turn Greenhill serves into offensive opportunities.
While the final score shows a sweep, the match was anything but a walk in the park. Each set featured plenty of back-and-forth action, with Greenhill staying within striking distance. The Lady Lions simply found another gear when it mattered most.
That ability to respond under pressure became the story of the night.
Point after point, PCA stayed aggressive, trusted its teammates and continued to make the plays necessary to finish each set. By the time the final point fell, the Lady Lions had completed a 3-0 sweep and walked away with a strong all-around performance.
It was a night that showcased what makes this PCA team dangerous: a powerful and balanced offense, a defense that refuses to let the ball hit the floor, and a team-wide commitment to making the next play.
The Lady Lions are continuing to build momentum, and this sweep of Greenhill provided another statement performance along the way.
