Prestonwood Christian Academy volleyball came out firing and never let up Thursday night, October 8, sweeping Bishop Lynch 3-0 with set score of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-17.

From the opening serve, the Lady Lions controlled the tempo, attacking with confidence, and turning strong defense and precise ball movement into one of their most dominant performances of the season.

PCA finished the night with 42 kills on 73 attacks, hitting .493 as a team. The Lady Lions also recorded 40 assists, 36 digs and seven total blocks while committing ball-handling errors.

Junior Taylor Johnson led the offensive charge, putting together a standout performance with 16 kills on 22 attacks while hitting .682. Johnson averaged 5.3 kills per set and added four digs, a block and an ace to make an impact in virtually every phase of the match.

Senior Nyla Livings was right behind her with nine kills on 14 attacks, hitting .571 while adding four total blocks and three service aces. Junior Gracie White also provided a major spark at the net, finishing with eight kills and a .538 hitting percentage while contributing two blocks.

Freshman Meiah Finley added three kills and two blocks, while Junior Nia Livings recorded three kills while hitting .500 in limited action. Senior Naomi Livings chipped in two kills while Junior Elizabeth Kowalchyk added a kill and helped keep the Lady Lions offense running smoothly.

Kowalchyk was instrumental in orchestrating the attack from the setter position, finishing with a team-high 34 assists, averaging 11.3 assists per set. Her ability to consistently put the ball in position for PCA’s hitters helped keep the offense clicking throughout all three sets.

The Lady Lions also applied plenty of pressure from the service line, recording 12 aces as a team. Senior Anya Baklenko led the way with three aces, while Nyla Livings and Naomi Livings each added three. Austyn Kidwell contributed eight service points, while Baklenko finished with seven.

Defensively PCA continued to make it difficult for Bishop Lynch. The Lady Lions collected 36 digs without a single defensive error, with Bakelenko and Kowalchyk each recording seven digs, Kidwell right behind them with six, while Naomi Livings adding five, and Johnson contributing four.

At the net, PCA’s blocking presence was another defensive-maker. The Lady Lions recorded seven, led by Nyla Livings with four. Gracie White added two blocks, while Finley contributed two more.

PCA continues to show what happens when its offense, defense and serving game are all clicking at the same time - and the Lady Lions are building momentum at exactly the right time in the season.
